Name: Keith
Canon: Voltron: Legendary Defender
Canon Point: Post-Black Paladins (S6E5)
Age: 21

History: Here aaand an episode list

Personality:

STRENGTHS:

🦁 Bravery. While Keith has changed throughout the course of the series, one thing that's been the same since the very beginning is how courageous he is. In Season 4, Keith is willing to sacrifice himself, nearly crashing his own ship in order to break through a particle barrier. He also goes on a solo mission to rescue Shiro in the very first episode, fighting members of the Garrison with his bare hands in order to get to Shiro successfully. He's willing to take risks in order to accomplish his goals and protect others. Speaking of protecting others...

🦁 Devoted. ...Keith is incredibly devoted to the people he cares about. We see this in his interactions with Shiro especially; Shiro is the person who believed in him when nobody else seemed to, and Keith hasn't taken that for granted. In the Black Paladins episode, Keith nearly sacrifices himself to save a clone of Shiro, who had just tried to kill Keith under Haggar's control. He's willing to go to the ends of the universe to ensure Shiro's safety. Once you gain Keith's trust, he's pretty much on your side no matter what.

🦁 Quick thinking. Keith is able to make decisions on the fly, and while not all of them are great, he's able to lead Voltron during the battle with Lotor in Season 6. He can come up with some great strategies that can get his team out of a bind. While this wasn't always one of Keith's strong suits and his impulsivity would lead to him being uncooperative, he's improved significantly by his current canon point.

🦁 Independent. Keith is incredibly self-sufficient, having grown up alone for a good chunk of his life. He was able to survive even after being kicked out of the Garrison and having no parental figure to guide him. He's resourceful and very good at taking care of himself when it comes to basic necessities.

WEAKNESSES:

🦁Reckless. This is to the point of being self-sacrificial. In the aforementioned examples -- particularly the one from Season 4 and the Black Paladins battle -- Keith was willing to sacrifice himself. Whether it be for Shiro, Voltron, or the entire universe's sake, Keith doesn't always have a whole lot of self-preservation.

🦁 Stubborn. While Keith has gotten a lot better at this, he still has a tendency to stick to his guns and do what he thinks is right regardless of what others may say. An example of this is in Season 8, when he and the members of Voltron are discussing whether or not Allura should use a dark entity to try to enter Honerva's consciousness. Keith is very adamant about Allura using the entity despite some of the other Paladins' concerns.

🦁 Social skills. He's chilled out a lot since the earlier seasons of Voltron, but Keith still has his moments. In Season 8, when the Paladins go off to a carnival to allegedly serve as security, most of them go off to have fun. Keith is the only one who takes his security duties very seriously -- too seriously -- and gets mocked by some of the carnival goers because of it. He can also come off as standoffish and he doesn't exactly come across as a ray of sunshine.

🦁 Abandonment & trust issues. This comes from being left behind by his mother when he was an infant, and his father dying while on the job as a fireman not much later into his childhood. While he's definitely grown to trust his fellow Paladins, he shows a nastier side of him in Season 7. In fairness, the Paladins were stranded in space for a long period of time and running on fumes as a result, but when the group confronted Keith about leaving Voltron in the past for the Blade of Marmora, Keith retaliates with anger and hostility and almost flies off on his own.

GREATEST MOTIVATION:
At this point? Returning home and protecting the universe. He's going into this thinking that the Galra Empire is still a threat to everyone, and that won't change even in Stella Fortuna. While he'll be without the Black Lion and a functional bayard, the looming threat of the Empire will be lingering in the back of his mind during his time here. He's currently the only one who can pilot the Black Lion, and Voltron needs all of its Lions and its leader, so. On a smaller scale, protecting others and ensuring everyone's survival is a priority.

MUNDANE INTERESTS:
Keith's the kind of guy who can tell when something's Weird and will look into it, ala Episode One. He'll also laugh at stupid jokes when he's comfortable around people. Prefers quiet places. Also can draw...somewhat....

NEW SITUATIONS:
Given that he thinks he's about to die at his current canon point, he's probably going to need a moment to assess what's going on here. Generally though, Keith likes to know what he's getting himself into, and he'll investigate and look into things he finds particularly interesting. Especially if it involves a conflict he thinks he can solve, or an enemy he can punch.

Abilities:

Swordsmanship. Keith is skilled at wielding blades, including daggers and knives. His bayard takes the form of a sword that he takes to very easily.

Combat capabilities. Keith is an agile, fast fighter with great reaction times. He doesn't stand a chance in a strength contest against, say, Zethrid or Kolivan, but he can maneuver his way through tough situations.

Piloting. The Voltron Lions are all space mechs, after all. He was actually the top pilot of his class at the Garrison (up until he was kicked out) because of his natural talent.

He's part-Galra. How this adds or subtracts to his capabilities is...very unclear...but it's a thing. His Galra traits will come out though when things get really intense, such as during his battle against clone Shiro in Black Paladins. He'll get yellow eyes and sharper teeth, but that's about as much as we get.

Leadership. He's willing to listen to other people's ideas and is much more cooperative than he used to be. He's more sure of himself now and confident in the decisions he makes.
